It's been a few months since I've been here last. Those last two entries no longer apply. I'm reading Only Revolutions by Mark Danielewski right now. And I love it more and more with every page. And I quote (green o's is Sam's story, gold is Hailey's): My frown a smile a frown a smile. Allways a frown. Around and around. Across warming meadows and fields, she impressively whirls, her cartwheels somehow overturning everything. So what if somewhere behind US Them shreds & bashes? Beside her I'm terribly free. Sure Them're still after me. Booooooooomblastandruin. But I smile because I'm faster. Big deal if somewhere nearby US Them amasses & gnashes. Beside him I'm uniquely free. Sure Them's still after me. Booooooooomblastandruin. But I smile because I'm faster. I recently finished Deus Irae by Philip K. Dick. And I quote: "Like it says in the Bob Dylan tune," the Great C said. "I give her my mind and she wanted my soul. I want your vitality. You move across the Earth while I stand here, alone and empty with hunger. I have not fed in months. I need you very much." It yanked him, then, several paces, he saw the cavity loom. "I love you," it said. "You call what you're doing love?" "Well, as Oscar Wilde put it, 'Each man kills the things he loves.' Hopefully attending midnight showing of 300 tonight. |
